Import a CSV price book
Use a generic export from this tool or the selected mapped format. Import replaces the current rows. At most 500 rows and 1 MB; no upload leaves this browser.
How this is calculated
Cost = labor hours × loaded labor rate + materials cost × (1 + material markup).
Margin mode: price = cost ÷ (1 − target margin). Markup mode: price = cost × (1 + markup).
Margin = (price − cost) ÷ price. Markup = (price − cost) ÷ cost. Percentages entered in the form are divided by 100 before calculation.
Loaded labor rate is USD per hour; labor hours measure time per item. Materials cost is USD before the material markup. Target margin is the share of the selling price above cost; markup is the increase over cost. Material markup applies before the final pricing mode.
Switching from margin to markup uses margin ÷ (1 − margin); the reverse uses markup ÷ (1 + markup), preserving the calculated price. Results always show both. CSV imports recompute results from the inputs rather than trusting uploaded totals.
Limits
- Enter your own rates, costs and targets. No benchmark, recommended margin or suggested price is supplied.
- The loaded labor rate must include the costs you intend to recover. Taxes, discounts, overhead outside that rate and financing are excluded.
- Prices round to USD cents. Zero cost or zero price can make markup or margin undefined; the tool labels those cases.
- CSV imports replace current rows, with a limit of 500 rows and 1 MB. Export a backup first. Documented formats follow the vendor's import template; read the note under the selector.
